Welcome to the user interface to access the Forschungszentrum Jülich Web Coverage Service (WCS) for global model results.

WCS enables web applications (and ultimately scientists and other users) to share time-varying geospatial data sets across different sites without having to keep local copies of these data.
It has been defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium OGC (http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/wcs).

This user interface enables easy access to a set of monthly mean simulation results from the Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution (TFHTAP) multi-model intercomparison experiment, which began in 2006. Information about the task force objectives, the participating teams and the set-up of the model runs can be found at http://www.htap.org.

Forschungszentrum Jülich operates the central data server in support of this modelling activity. With the implementation of the WCS server, these data are becoming publicly available. The present version of the user interface is a prototype web application with the primary objective to demonstrate the functionality of the WCS. We plan to further enhance the user interface in the near future and to develop it into a useful online tool for model evaluation.
